How content on this site is researched, written, reviewed and corrected.

Our standards

Trading education is a field where bad information is profitable to publish and expensive to act on. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

We do not invent statistics

Pattern "success rates" circulate widely online with no traceable source, and we do not repeat them. Where we cannot point to a defensible source, we describe the behaviour qualitatively and leave out a number that would sound more authoritative than it deserves.

We publish failure conditions

Every pattern and method guide states the conditions under which it does not work. A guide that only explains when something succeeds is marketing, not education.

We show our arithmetic

Where a claim rests on maths, whether that is break-even win rates, drawdown recovery, compounding or position sizing, we show the calculation itself, so you can check our working line by line.

We separate fact from judgement

Definitions and arithmetic are stated as fact. Opinions about what is useful in practice are framed as opinion, and we work hard to keep the line between them visible.

How content is produced

  1. Scope. We define the exact question a page should answer and who is asking it.
  2. Draft. Written to explain the mechanism, at whatever length that takes.
  3. Technical review. Definitions, arithmetic and worked examples are checked line by line.
  4. Clarity review. Jargon is removed or defined; circular explanations are rewritten.
  5. Publication. Substantive later changes are noted on the page.

Our guides are drafted with the help of AI tools, then reviewed and edited by our editors for accuracy. How we use AI sets out which parts of the work are machine-assisted and which are ours.

Updates and corrections

This is reference material, so pages stay in service and get maintained. We revise them when we find a clearer explanation, when a definition needs tightening, or when a reader points out an error.

If you find a factual error, please tell us. Corrections get made promptly, and they are the reader feedback we act on fastest. Substantive corrections are noted on the page. Use the contact page.

Bylines

We do not publish under personal bylines, because a name at the top of a page is a claim about who wrote it and we would rather tell you what actually happens. Pages are drafted with AI assistance and then read line by line by a person, who checks the definitions, the arithmetic in every worked example and whether the page answers the question it sets out to answer. The note at the top of each page names that reviewer, and how we use AI explains what the review covers and what it does not.

We do not lean on credentials to make an argument. A guide stands or falls on whether its reasoning is correct and its arithmetic checks out, which is why the working sits on the page where you can go through it yourself.

Independence

We do not accept payment for coverage, do not publish sponsored articles presented as editorial, and do not take broker affiliate commissions in exchange for recommendations. The site carries advertising, served by Google. Those ads are chosen by Google and not by us, we do not know in advance which advertiser will appear beside which article, and no advertiser sees or influences anything before it is published.
