What we publish
Stock Tips Daily covers the mechanics of trading the stock market: candlestick patterns, chart analysis, trading styles from intraday to position trading, options fundamentals, and the risk arithmetic that determines whether a strategy survives a losing streak.
Alongside the written guides we publish free calculators for the parts of trading that are arithmetic rather than judgement (position sizing, reward-to-risk, options payoff, cost basis, dividends and compounding), plus a stock market simulator for practising execution without risking capital. All of them run entirely in the browser and require no account.
Who it is for
Self-directed traders and investors who manage their own money and want to understand the mechanism behind a decision rather than be handed a conclusion. Our guides assume no prior knowledge but do not stop at the beginner level: most start with definitions and finish with the conditions under which the method stops working.
Our position on the industry
Trading education has a credibility problem. A large share of it presents chart shapes as signals, quotes win rates with no source, omits the context in which a method fails, and is ultimately a funnel into a course, a signal service or a broker referral.
We have taken specific positions against that:
- No trade signals, alerts or stock picks. We do not tell anyone what to buy.
- No broker affiliate commissions. We are not paid to recommend where you trade.
- No paid course, community or mentorship. There is nothing behind a paywall.
- No fabricated statistics. Where a figure cannot be sourced, we describe the behaviour instead of inventing a number.
If the site carries advertising in future it will be clearly labelled and will have no influence on what is published. Our full editorial policy sets out how content is produced, reviewed and corrected.
Who writes it
Stock Tips Daily is written by two people, and every guide carries the name of the one who wrote it. Each reads the other's work before it is published.

Ellis Hartley is the editor of Stock Tips Daily and writes the site’s guides on technical analysis, candlestick and chart patterns, indicators and risk management. Ellis also sets the standard every article is checked against before it is published.

Graham Whitlock writes Stock Tips Daily’s guides on fundamental analysis, trading statistics and portfolio construction, and reviews the numbers in every worked example on the site.
How our content is produced
Guides are written by one of the two writers above and read by the other before they go live. Each one is scoped around a specific question, drafted to explain the mechanism rather than to reach a word count, then checked line by line for accuracy of definitions, arithmetic and worked examples before publication.
Content is maintained rather than archived. Guides are revised when a definition needs tightening, an explanation can be made clearer, or a reader reports an error, and the change is noted on the page.
Credentials and limitations
We are not registered investment advisers, broker-dealers or financial planners, and we do not present ourselves as such. We do not provide personal financial advice, manage money, or make recommendations about individual securities.
What we offer is careful, well-organised explanation of how markets and instruments work. The decisions, and the consequences of them, remain yours. Please read our risk disclaimer before acting on anything published here.

Factual corrections are our highest-priority form of reader feedback and are acted on quickly. If you find an error, tell us the page and the specific figure or sentence, and we will fix it. Questions and topic suggestions are also welcome through the contact page.
